GTS and Valentine’s Day of Compassion

ANOTHER UPDATE FOR SISTERS: Sorry to change things again but here’s a new plan for the sisters! We will not have a sleepover on Friday, but instead we will have a Valentine’s Party on Saturday right after the Henry Robinson Center visit!  Come join us for a fun bonding time over dinner, dessert and games–girls only!

Update: For Saturday, we’ll be meeting at Dana House at 12pm 11:30am. Please bring your own lunch! Don’t forget to sign up by Thursday! In other news, sisters will be having a sleepover after Friday Night’s Bible Study, and brothers will be going to Alameda for some BBQ and sports after our Valentine’s Day of Compassion.

Fri 7pm: Gracepoint Training School (signup)

For those who have never taken a course at Gracepoint Fellowship Church, we highly recommend Course 101: Christian Foundations. As Craig Hazen said this past Friday, Christianity is a highly testable religion. We will cover topics such as man’s purpose, our longings, the existence of God, the historicity and authenticity of the bible, to who was Jesus, why did he die, and what evidence is there for his resurrection.  So please sign up — deadline is this Wednesday (2/11)!

Afterwards, we’ll be getting into our G-Live groups!

Sat Evening: Valentine’s Day of Compassion (signup)

We’ll be going to the Henry Robinson Center to share God’s love with them. As many of our own students found out last year, we felt more blessed to be with them than the other way around! Sign up and experience this for yourself!

Football @ Memorial Stadium (more photos)

Right before finals time last semester, several Kairos 1 and 2 brothers played football at the Memorial Stadium! The teams were split between Staff+Frosh against The World. In the end, it doesn’t really matter who won and who lost; it was spectacular just playing in the Stadium. But there’s something about those guys holding the football victoriously…

    haha Abe,

Just for your information. Ron did make the field goal! The only one other than Ryan Theimer to do so. So actually he WAS showing us how to kick the ball.

Man, Course 101 is an amazing class and there are serious intellectual arguments that Christianity makes – it is indeed testable. I believe Andy is teaching one of the course 101 classes so, as we all love Andy, you get to spend even more time with him! 😛

I can’t wait for this weekend! So many cool things are happening. I’m really glad that we’re going back to the Henry Robinson Center. I hope we’re doing the puppet show again!

@Robert: Did Ron really? Not according to that picture, he didn’t! In any case, how come Ron’s not the one defending himself? In fact, has Ron ever posted a comment on this blog before? Ron. I’m calling you out. Post a comment, dude.

haha yeah, Ron actually made it. I promise. But Ron doesn’t even check the blog so he wouldn’t even be seeing your challenge haha.

Haha, that football game was awesome; being at Memorial Stadium and on the same turf as guys like Javid Best, Zack Follet, Marshawn Lynch, Aaron Rodgers and more! Thanks Ryan for getting us on the field, and we got to do this again soon!!

I hope that more of you guys can sign up and join us for the Valentine’s Day of Compassion as it will be a really fun event! We are expecting about 30+ kids and are planning on doing a short program with songs and message as well as play some fun games with the kids. Henry Robinson Center is a transition home for families and I am sure that each one of these families have gone through many hardships and struggles, so going to show them love on Valentine’s Day will be really meaningful and touching for them. More info re: time and meeting location will come, but please sign up and come join us!!

you know… more and more I start to see why people say Ron looks like Andy… scary… (sorry Ron, I know you don’t find that flattering) =)

Yes! V-Day Compassion would be great! I promise you’ll LOVE the Joyland dances that we’re gonna do! =)

I see. People went from mocking Ron to complimenting him all within one post 🙂

I didn’t see it before, but now that you mention it… there is a slight resemblance between Ron and Andy. 😀

On a different note… Valentine’s Day of Compassion will be great as it has been every year! It will be fun singing and dancing (with the kids of course). 🙂 But not just that, it will be really meaningful to spend time with these kids and give them a couple of hours where they can just be kids. Come join us!
