Week of Changes

Hi everyone, hope you guys are having a good week. For those who didn’t go, we had a really good time at the Gracepoint Winter Retreat this past weekend. From our group alone, we had four salvation decisions: Jackie Lu, Jordan Tsai, Matt Mo, and Ron Tong! In addition, we’ve had many more rededications! If you’re around next year, please join us!

DT Groups

Pastor Ed and Kelly Kang have often expressed that the best way to know more about God — and of ourselves — is through daily reading and meditating over the Bible. We completely agree. However, we recognize that it’s often difficult to do your devotion time (or DT) consistently, so we’re now offering DT groups across all of Kairos! For me, it’s insightful to hear others’ thoughts on the same passage because they offer perspectives that I don’t think of, and vice versa. If you’re interested, please sign up for the times you’re available to do DT.

Friday Bible Study: 6:30pm @ 213 Wheeler

Yes, we’re back at 213 Wheeler! As usual, we’ll start off with dinner, followed by our Bible Study. Welcome back to our official first Bible Study of the semester!

Sunday Worship Service: 11:30am

Starting this Sunday (2/1), we’ll be changing up our SWS format. We’ll begin with prayer time at 10am for those who would like to participate, followed by service time at 11:30am. Please take notice of the change in time — if you come at 1:30pm, you’ll be there alone (or with others who did not read carefully)!

Sweet! This blog design is a lot better. And congrats to the ones who made salvations decisions at the retreat! What a great year this is going to be and what a way to start it off. See everyone soon at our first Kairos 2 Bible study of 2009!

haha, it’s not white anymore, but way way better than pressrow!
I had to find the commenting link at the top, so I’ll have to remember to comment instead of it being naturally there at the end of the post 😛

I’m excited for the DT groups, a very practical application to the winter retreat and probably the best way to experience spiritual growth. The little mini-DT group was really helpful to me last semester because I got to think in completely different areas that I would miss, and I hopefully blessed some other people too. 😀

Haha, the first, and not for a while, Kairos Bible Study. This week Andy, next week Craig Hazen, thereafter GTS. Well, better savor it.

Wow, that all Kairos picture is amazing– sooo many people! who would have ever known that Kairos would become this big? I am thankful that many of you guys were able to come to the winter retreat and I am especially thankful for Matt, Ron, Jordan and Jackie who made decisions! I was so happy when each of your names were called and when P. Ed read your commitment cards!!

Forgot to mention that the Gracepoint Retreat photos are up!

Just also wanted to mention that dorm rides for SWS are only available between 9:20-9:40am at Foothill (La Loma) and CKC. In other words, there will not be pickups for the 11:30am service.

In other news, we’re going to Alameda tomorrow night after Bible Study to watch Return of the King. Please join us — it’ll be fun!
