This week: Convalescent Home and More

Howdy folks, hope everything’s been going well. Here’s what we’re doing this week:

The New: Convalescent Home Visit

As Andy mentioned this past Friday, each month one of the groups at Gracepoint Fellowship Church visits the convalescent home to minister and reach out to them. We’re privileged to be the ones doing it this month! If you signed up for it, here’s our large-scale plan:

  • Thurs, 8:30pm @ YWCA: we’ll be making friendship bracelets and other crafts to hand out on Sunday
  • Sun, 8am: leave Berkeley. We’ll all meet to have breakfast beforehand afterwards.
If you haven’t signed up yet, but would still like to join, please email Tracy by tomorrow. I can’t tell you how much it means to them just to have young people like ourselves (yes, ourselves!) go visit them. It only takes a few minutes off our time to really touch a life, so please do sign up!

The Usual: Bible Study, Bowling, and Sunday Service

Thats not what a bowling ball is used for...

That's not what a bowling ball is used for...

We’ll be continuing in the book of Genesis during our Bible Study this Friday, 6:30pm at 213 Wheeler. Food will be provided, of course. Afterwards, we be goin’ bowlin‘! Think you’re good? If (and only if) you can beat Andy… then we’ll talk. It’s not that he’s that spectacular in bowling, but his trash-talking ability is capable of completely and utterly immobilizing the fiercest of people. And bears. You have been forewarned! But otherwise, we’ll have a jolly time at the bowling alley. Please invite your friends!
(Helpful reminder: when you eat the popcorn there, just remember what your hand last touched…)

Sunday: as mentioned above, we’ll be leaving for the convalescent home at 8am. Otherwise, everything else is normal: service at 1:30pm at Willard.

wow… I’m surprised that Michelle can hold up a bowling ball over her head! That’s quite a feat 😀

Man, I’m excited for bowling and for the convalescent home visit. It’ll be great to share our love and God’s love with the elderly. I can’t imagine how lonely it can get in there, away from your family :/

Hey, small correction: we’ll be having breakfast after the visit. I’m really excited!!

Thanks, Tracy, for the correction. Also, please invite your friends to the bowling event (and to Bible Study as well, if possible)!

I can’t wait to go bowling!! Wow, I never thought Abe would admit that I have skills 🙂 Ok, maybe he didn’t say I have real skills, but skills in trash-talking are still skills!

Also, we’re going to be at the bowling alley with Kairos 1 and 4, so maybe we can have some friendly competition with them too! Remember the key word is “Friendly.”

We got an incredible deal on bowling, it will be $10 per person for about 2 games and shoes! See everyone Friday!

Haha, i was thinking the same thing when i saw the picture, robert. I was thinking, wow how did I hold that bowling ball above my head? I must have been really strong. But, then i remembered… the bowling ball was really light.. 🙂 so it just looks like im strong but am really not…
wow, i cant believe that we took that picture over a year ago. I am amazed at how much has happened since then and how we have all gotten to know each other so much better! Amazing…

Wow… a whole year… and the only thing I’ve done is cut my hair!

Haha…no, this group has really been a blessing to me and I’m glad I got to know everyone better, and hope to continue to know everyone better, including the new-er Kairossians (Lin’s Term).

Michelle, you got me all nostalgic
