The Battle of Couch

Haha, we'll get the real pictures up soon!

After our last Bible Study, all of Kairos 2 went to Amy and Andy’s house to fight an epic battle against good and evil. Haha just kidding, it was just a fun game called “The Couch Game”, sisters versus brothers. After a tirade of trash talk and a long explanation of the rules of Couch game, we were off.

The Couch Game is a game of strategy and intellect. Everyone sits in a circle alternating boy, girl, with an empty spot. There are four special spots that you want to fill with your gender to win the game. The twist is that people are not who they really are and instead are the person they get on a piece of paper. This is very confusing when a girl has a boy’s name yet you call it if the seat next to you is one of the four special seats. The person to the left of the empty spot calls a person’s name. The person with the paper of that name called will sit in the empty spot and switches papers with the person who called. The person left to the new empty spot repeats this cycle until the first gender to fill the four special spots wins the game!

Guess which team won?

Guess which team won?

I think it is quite obvious who won the couch game. There were three rounds. The sisters won the first round within 10 minutes! This gave the brothers a chance to make a rebound. They did win the second round with great strategy and team work. However, the sisters took the gold when they won the last round, winning 2 to 1.

I was very proud to be a sister that night. Even though we may not win those barbaric games that guys like to call sports, the sisters proved who had the bigger brains!

But were still a happy family!

But we're still a happy family!

“Even though we may not win those barbaric games that guys like to call sports…” You know, football is really a mixture of chess and ballet; it involves both brains and braun. Just thought I ought to point that out.

I was truly inspired by one of the brothers who allowed the sisters to have their final win. I think he was muttering, “Chivalry. Chivalry.” before purposefully (and holding back tears!) getting that last brother off the couch…

Truly an inspiration. I must admit that it was pretty amazing that the sisters won that game. All the times that I’ve playing the couch game (maybe 3-4 tops) I’ve never seen the sisters win until that night. So I would have to give them props.

Also, would you consider a water fight on kayaks a barbaric game? If so, I guess you’re already admitting that the sisters are going to get worked in the sierra. Unfortunate if you ask me πŸ™‚

No water fighting is just a war not a game.

Wow… people are not honest with themselves. It is clear that the girls won, through intellect and cunning. Right guys?
    *wink wink*
