This Week: Thanksgiving Celebration and More!

Hi everyone,

I hope you’re excited for Thanksgiving Celebration (TC) this Sunday!! Please read carefully for some important instructions & make sure to SIGN UP:

Thursday, 11/20 @ 8:30pm 
TC practice @ YWCA, 2nd floor
We’ll be meeting to make props, practice the black light/white gloves, chorus, dance, etc.

Friday, 11/21 @ 6:30pm
Dinner, Bible Study, & TC Dress Rehearsal @ 213 Wheeler
Please come dressed for our rehearsal. Unless you are contacted separately, please wear or bring jeans & a bright top (preferably a t-shirt. NO tank tops). Please also bring caps & bandanas if you have them.

Saturday, 11/22 @ 8pm
Church Cleaning @ NL building
Please contact ABE if you are able to come help us with cleaning our church building in Alameda. The various groups at our church take turns, and this Saturday is our turn with all the Kairos groups. We will pick you guys up at 7:30pm in Berkeley @ Dana House.

Sunday, 11/23 @ 1:30pm
Sunday Worship Service, Thanksgiving Celebration & Thanksgiving Feast!!!
Please join us for our Thanksgiving Service & much anticipated Thanksgiving Celebration!! It’s not too late to join the shameless dancing or at least to come and enjoy the show & some great food.

Please be sure to sign up for rides by Thurs 11/20 @ 5pm so we can have enough rides & plenty of food. Please remember to signup your friends as well! We’ll have pickups at 12:30pm @ Dana House. Service is @ 1:30pm, TC @ 4pm, & dinner @ 7pm. There will be rides to Berkeley after dinner.

Btw, we’ll have you guys be in charge of different side dishes/desserts/drinks…so Michelle will be contacting you soon to see who can help out. But, if you like, you can sign up to help out with food.

Cal Connect 2008!!

I can’t believe it’s August!! As we approach yet another Fall semester, we have yet another exciting opportunity to welcome the incoming freshmen from around the Bay! For the past 2 years, Kairos has worked with the California Alumni Association to host receptions to welcome the incoming freshmen to Cal. Since Andy & I both grew up in the Bay Area and were freshmen just a couple years ago , we thought itʼd be a wonderful opportunity to help answer any questions the incoming freshmen may have or just to welcome them to Cal. This year weʼll be hosting a reception for the students in San Mateo County on Thursday, August 14. 

Also coming to the reception, weʼll have Abe who graduated in 2005 from EECS representing the Engineering department, and current Cal students Cheng & Chanhee representing MCB and pre-med, Robert with Economics, Lin from the Haas school of Business, Ron with Industrial Engineering, and of course Andy & I, to represent the best major at Cal, Cognitive Science! Weʼre all busy getting ready the different brochures, making our very own survival guide to Berkeley, and refreshing our memory on the answers to the important questions of where to get good cheap food after midnight, what’s the best places to study, what should I bring for move-in, how can I get more involved in Cal athletics, and much more!! We’re definitely looking forward to the new faces weʼll be meeting. GO BEARS!
