Gracepoint Live Presents “Undo”!!

Saturday 4/4,

If you don’t know, then you better get in the know!! GLive is the biggest production our church puts on every 2 years; filled with hilarious skits, incredible dance moves, poignant dramas, special effects, an awesome video (that our own Abe Yang has been working on), memorable lines, and great fellowship! Basically, you don’t want to miss it!

Tickets (which are FREE), are going quickly so if you haven’t reserved your seat, and your friend’s seats, you need to do so asap!! 

HOW? Go to the GLIVE website to reserve yours. There are 3 showings; 11am, 3pm, and 7pm this Saturday, April 4.

BUT which one should you sign up for? Well, they’re all going to be great. But maybe you want to go when your friends are acting. The Kairos Freshmen and Juniors will be performing at 11am and 7pm, and the Sophomores will be at 3pm (their doing another stealth in-house showing, haha). And the Seniors will be in all the showings.

Friday 4/3,

Instead of the normal GTS courses, we will be having a combined bible study @ 7:00pm at Willard Junior High followed by our in-house showing (you know, the stealth one) to work out any remaining kinks we might have.

We’ll be starting at 6pm for all actors and behind the scenes people (like prop movers), have Bible study, then we’re on by 7:45p. If you’re in GLive, please don’t be late as we’re running a tight ship!

Sunday 4/5,

We will have our normal service starting at 11:30am at Willard followed by a CHURCH-WIDE PICNIC to celebrate the conclusion of GLive! I heard through the grapevine that Tom Kim, the editor of Dish-Gracepoint, ordered over 600 lbs of meat! OH YEAH!!

Spring Break, Photos, and Trailer #3

Hi all!

Hope you are all enjoying the spring break and time off from school!

All of us here in Berkeley have been busy with G-live practices. We have been having workdays, worknights and all day practices at Northloop to get those lines and dance moves down. It’s been quite a lot of work, but dont worry, we are having some fun in the midst of all the work with sleepovers in Alameda and picnics at Tilman park! There is still quite a bit of work to do, but things are looking good, and I am excited to see everyone on stage in just about 10 days!! For those of you who wont be on stage acting or dancing, dont forget to reserve your tickets online for one of the three performances and dont forget to invite all your friends as well! And, last but not least, here are a few pictures from the Sisters DimSum & SF Outing. Though it was a short outing, I think we had a good time, but next time we will definitely bring a map so that we wont get lost again. Sorry, guys, I’m a really bad navigator :] But, hey at least we all got a good workout pushing up our bikes that steep hill!

Calm Before the Storm (3/17 – 3/22)

Hey guys, I hope you’re having a good week so far. I heard some of you are now pretty relaxed, since this is the week before Spring Break. Then there’s some of you who are riddled with midterms and projects this week… since this is the week before Spring Break. To the former, enjoy this week! To the latter… good luck!

Dinner, GTS, and G-Live
Thursday, 5:45pm @ Ida Sproul (Unit 3) UPDATE: We will be meeting @ 6:30pm @ Dana House for Dinner, GTS starts promptly at 7:30pm (no praise time).

Kairos 2 will be eating together at 5:45pm 6:30pm, and we’ll all walk over to First Pres for Gracepoint Training School. This will also be our last G-Live practice before Spring Break, so let’s go all out on this one (just like every one, right? Right??). Please note that it will be this Thursday, not Friday.

G-Live Workdays

For the lucky few who will be here over break, we’re having G-Live workdays on Friday and Saturday! Please join us as we build props and make costumes for the various skits that are coming up. Much fellowship and fun (yes, FUN) are garnered during such times!

For those of you sticking around over break, we’ll be having our regular SWS this Sunday — same church time, same church place.

I just want to point your attention to our Gracepoint Live website! You can check out our promo videos there. If you’re part of G-Live, you don’t have to sign up. However, if you’re inviting friends/family to come, please tell them to RSVP. This guarantees them a seat… you don’t want them to be stuck in overflow for this one!

In the news (3/9 – 3/15)

UPDATE(2) FOR BROS: Ropes course got canceled — unfortunately, there was a scheduling conflict on their end. So now, we’re going to Vals (an awesome burger joint — Ryan can attest to this) for lunch and head back to Berkeley to play sports and then all study together. We’ll be meeting at the Channing-Bowditch parking lot at 11am. Please let Andy know if you’re interested in going!

I know that G-Live is right around the corner (under four weeks!), but we’ll still be doing a lot of fun stuff together! Check this out:

Saturday, 11am @ Santa Cruz — Meet at parking lot across from Crossroads DC.

All-Kairos bros will be heading out to Santa Cruz for some bonding 70-80 feet above ground at a ropes course in Santa Cruz. Don’t worry, it’s totally safe with harnesses and safety equipment, but if you’re too chicken… haha. We will grab In-and-out on the way up, then play frisbee and football on the field there as well as go rock climbing. 

BYOF Dinner & GTS
Friday, 6pm @ 1st Pres

We’ll be combining with all the Kairos groups this Friday for dinner. Please BYOF — bring your own food — and join us at the courtyard of 1st Pres at 6. We’ll then go to our GTS classes, followed by G-Live practice.

Sisters Dimsum & SF Trip
Saturday, 10:30am @ Annahead Parking Lot

Not to be outdone by the brothers, the sisters will be heading out to SF for some dimsum and other goodies this Saturday. If you’re interested in coming, please let Michelle know and meet at the Annahead Parking Lot (on Channing-Bowditch) at 10:30.

Northloop Church Cleaning
Saturday, 6pm

If you’ve ever used our facilities at Northloop, then you’ll notice that it’s always decently clean. That’s because each week, a particular ministry group is responsible for cleaning it. The beacon is lit, and this week, Kairos will answer the call! If you’d like to help out (and experience fellowship in the process), please let Michelle know. Oh, and dinner will be provided afterwards.

This Week (3/4 – 3/8)

Hey guys, it’s a quick post today:

FRIDAY

Dinner at 6pm, but…

• Freshmen will be meeting at Unit 3 Priestly, and
• Sophmores-Seniors will be meeting at Dana House.

Gracepoint Training School will start at 7pm @ First Pres, and G-Live practice will ensue afterwards. Like last week, Frosh-Soph will meet at St. Augustine, and Jr-Srs will meet at Northloop in Alameda. We’re less than FIVE WEEKS away from Gracepoint Live! Aaaaah!

Study hard! But I guess you didn’t need me to tell you that. (Except a few of you out there. You know who you are.)

New time for Service! It will now be at 11:30am, so enjoy extra 15 minutes of sleep!
