WARNING: It is going to be very cold at the Sierras on Saturday (36-43 degrees F). Please dress warmly and layer. Don’t worry, we have backup plans if it’s too cold to go boating!!
Kairos 2 Bible study is back on Friday night!! We will meet at 6:30pm for dinner and then watch “Everything is Spiritual,” an awesome DVD by Rob Bell that talks about the consistency between the Genesis creation story and science, life, and reality.

Rob Bell DVD on Genesis 1 during Kairos 2 Bible Study this week!
Afterwards, we will have a sleepover at Andy’s house for the guys and Michelle and Tracy’s house for the girls. We will gather at my house for a time of studying and Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream!! That’s right, you read this correctly, we will be studying since a bunch of us will be heading out for our Sierra Trip.
FINALLY, we will be leaving for our our Sierra Trip on Saturday morning and returning Sunday Morning! Our plan is to Kayak down the Truckee River, a smooth, safe, but exciting trek that includes small island stops, sandy beach fronts, and of course, some good water battles! We will also go hiking, flashlight trailblazing, star gazing, along with some archery, studying (that’s right!!), and great food! Somehow, we will squeeze all that in our trip so you won’t want to miss it!! Unlike previously stated, this will just be a Kairos 2 trip so it will be cozier.

I can't wait to get some fresh forest air, introduce everyone to our sierra lodge, and go kayaking down the Truckee River!!
For packing lists, costs, and other details, please check back on the comments as we will finalize everything tonight. See you all tomorrow.
Still need to signup? Well, since we changed the plans late, signups will be open until 11am Friday Morning.
We’ll keep updating this so please check back tomorrow afternoon.

lol i don’t have a smile, can i borrow one?
err, Lin
obviously you already have one right there…geez!
hahaha, but I’m excited for this trip, doing stuff we’ve never done before. But I’m sad about this not being an all-Kairos trip
Bu hao.
I am so excited!!!!!! but are we really able to do everything during this trip? “sniff” “sniff”
I hope so. The weather is starting to get really cold. There seems to be a “cold front” coming in this weekend, so there is the sad chance that we can’t go boating since the water will be freezing. If the weather holds up, we’ll definitely be able to do everything!
Please remember to dress warmly!! Bring extra warm clothes. Maybe even a scarf and gloves. Who knows, if we get snow, we’ll have snow ball fights
do we need sleeping bags?? for both sleep over and the trip?
Great questions! We have sleeping bags up at the Sierra Lodge, however, I don’t have enough at my house. So, just bring your sleeping bag if you have one. If you don’t have one, there should be enough as longs as some of us bring it.
does to toiletries include towel?
NOOOO!! i wanted to kayak down the river~~~~~~~~~ TT_TT tears. but snow ball fight would be fine too
o yea Alan, I think it’s everything you need including towels. but someone correct me if i’m wrong
Hi, it’s Ann!

Amy, would it be possible to borrow a warm windbreaker of some sort? maybe the one i used at Point Reyes? I really only have sweaters/sweatshirts. but i will try to bring as many warm things as possible. Thanks so much!!
