REWIND: Back in the fall of 2006, Gracepoint Fellowship Church, Berkeley, launched Kairos Christian Fellowship. We started with 4 groups, but over the last 2 years, Kairos 3 and 4 joined Koinonia and a2f (our other campus fellowships at Gracepoint).

Remembering our First Kairos 2 Bible Study back in the Summer of 2006
As one of the original Kairos groups, we’re excited to announce that this fall, Kairos 3, 4, and W will be starting anew!! Wait, what’s Kairos W? Well, it a Kairos group just for women! That’s right, it’s a place just for the girls to be real, to bond, and really form deep relationships around Christian values.
On top of that, many of staff and leads for these groups are good friends of Amy and I.
Kairos 3 is headed up by Ken and Carmen Hsu. Ken was my college buddy and we were roommates back then. Kairos 4 is led by Tim and Debbie Fitz (and their adorable daughter Mikaela) and we’ve known them for over a decade (can’t believe it’s been that long…). Kairos W is headed by Jenn Yoon and Jeanne Phung, two fun-loving, thoughtful girls. As they launch these groups, I’m excited to see how God will work and who will join them as the pioneering group of students! Good luck guys, and we’ll be praying for you here at Kairos 2.

Since we’re talking about the other Kairos groups, I might as well give a shout out to Kairos 1 while we’re at it. In addition to the four wonderful staff there, they’ve also received Rick and Sue from a2f just a short while ago! Rick is a self-proclaimed father of the “best major at Cal“, who inspired the likes of Amy and Andy; Sue is highly energetic who calls every brother by the same name: Guy (eg, “Hey Guy, come over here”). Rick and Sue are now the directors of Kairos, which means they’ll be overlooking all the different groups and making sure no heresy is preached. Hooray for Rick and Sue (and Kairos 1)!
Praise God! I still remember back in 2006 when Pastor Ed and Kelly Kang first had the vision to start Kairos. We really had no idea what to expect, but I’m so grateful at how He has already been working so faithfully… and am personally really exicted to see how He is going to continue to work in Kairos with the birth of these new groups… and throughout our Gracepoint Church!
WOW Andy looks so young… ooo the stresses of building Kairos 2 must have been great…. good job Cheng! You helped develop a leader xD
and is that Ken Chu? He looks so skinny….
Okay, In all seriousness…
I’m really glad for Kairos and I wouldn’t have become Christian were it not for you guys. I love all very much and thought my tongue is sharp towards you all, it cannot sever the ties (I hope) that we built in the past year.
Okay,
Corny man out!
I was wondering what Kairos “W” stands for, i thought that was a typo or something…Now it all makes sense! How exciting to have Rick, Sue, Jenn and Jeanne join Kairos! I’m looking forward to how God will use these new groups and all that he will do in this new school year!
Hooray for the start of Kairos 3, 4 & W! Jeanne Phung and I graduated the same year. We’re good friends and housemates, so I guess we’ll be seeing a lot more of each other!
I’m really excited to see how God will work in Kairos this year!
Wow, this is so exciting. I can’t believe it’s the new school year already
Yea, I’m excited!! Dorm move-in starts tomorrow!! I’m sure all the Kairos groups, esp. the newer groups, are getting geared up for the new year. Here at Kairos 2 we’ve planned a bunch of welcome week events from “desserts and games,” a mini sports night, our Kairos Wide Shaved “Ice Breakers” night, both the NSWNs, our SF Spectacular outing on Labor Day, our Kairos 2 Kick Off, and much more!! It’s going to be a busy but a very fun time so I hope everyone can join us!!
Hey ABE, where’s our schedule of events on this blog? We best get it up asap! Thanks!
